Cloaks, Cloaks, Cloaks

We are making great progress on our Cloaks for our Wearable Arts Display.

Thanks to Sharon, Shireen, Sarah and Wendy for helping out on Friday - it was a very messy but fun day!

Can you figure out which fairy tale/classic story these children are symbolising on their cloaks?

Mice and Mouse Houses

On Friday we made some very cute mice - I was SO impressed with the independence of the children.  Everyone was able to thread their own needle and most people could even tie their own knot.  Even more amazing was the independence the children showed when the stitched their mice - some people even made several mice!

After the mice were made the children were able to make their very own Mouse House for their pet mouse to live in.  I love the creativity, ideas and use of so many creative materials used in these.

Tooth Fairy Fun

Today we finished our Tooth Fairy Pillows and Bags.

I wonder who the first person will be to lose a tooth and have a chance to test it out!

Puppet Fun

On Friday we completed our finger puppets. We used our plan and had to try to follow it closely. We did a great job. My favourite part of this whole process was watching the children put on puppet shows at the end.

A Puppet Project

Today we started to work on our very own finger puppets. We had to make a plan of what we want our finger puppet to look like. We needed to think about the colours, size, decorations and how we want to assembly our puppet. We had fun making our plans and did a good job too. On Friday we will have a go at making our puppets. Our goal is to make them look just like our plan. Then we will evaluate our work and reflect on how we can improve for our second puppet.
