Bina's Magic Treehouse Story

Over the weekend Bina wrote a fantastic Magic Treehouse book all by herself.

Today she read it to our class.  We were very impressed.  Bina took her story to Mrs Warren too.

Well done Bina, we love your motivation.

Honey Guide Bird

While we were reading our latest Magic Treehouse book Jack and Annie discovered the Honey Guide Bird.

We found a you tube clip about this amazing bird.

The Honey Guide bird lives in Africa.  It works together with people.  The bird lead people to the bee hives.  The people get the honey from the hive and then they leave the honey comb for the birds.

We thought this was pretty amazing.

Craters on the Moon

Our lastest Magic Treehouse book is about the Moon.

It is set in the future.  We thought this was quite exciting.  In the story there is a moon station that astronauts can visit.

We learned that there are craters on the moon.
We learned how they are formed too- by big rocks falling into the moon dust.

We went outside and dropped a tennis ball into flour to make our own moon craters.

I Wish

We have been reading The Magic Treehouse books.

Jack makes a wish and travels to the time of the dinosaurs.

We did some BRILLIANT writing about our own wishes.

We had a look at some seeding dandelions and then we talked about how we can blow a dandelion into the wind and make a wish.

Mrs Pelham took our photo as we 'blew' the dandelion away.

Today we made a dandelion by collecting a stick and adding some wool.

We love the finished work.

Have a look in our classroom to see what we wished for.

The Magic Treehouse

We are very excited to have started reading the Magic Treehouse series of books by Mary Pope Osbourne.

Today we started to read Dinosaurs before Dawn.

We found out how Annie and Jack discovered an amazing Magic Treehouse in the forest.
They opened a book that meant they could see real dinosaurs!

We drew the Magic Treehouse in our reading book, it was our first time at using our new school books!

Hayden was an Outstanding Wise Learner and he became our Dinosaur Expert.  He knows so much about dinosaurs and he shared what he knows with our class.  We tried to ask him lots of dinosaur questions .... Hayden was amazing because he could answer them all!
