What is a Symbol?

As part of our Inquiry we asked the Big Question - What is a Symbol?  This is important for us to understand as we are working on our cloaks using symbols.

A symbol is something that stands for something else. There are symbols everywhere. You can see them at home, in the classroom and in town. We know that a heart is a symbol for love, and that a horseshoe means good luck. A green light means go, and a red  one means stop!

Can you figure out which fairy tale these children are representing on their cloaks?
