Our Amazing Ashley

Today there was an exciting parcel in my cubby hole.
When I opened it I discovered it was a special certificate, letter and book for Ashley as a prize for the 400 Words Writing Competition.

We have lots of fun things to share.
This is a video of Ashley, Harper and Elenoa who are leading a zumbatomic dance with all of the year two children.  This clip is to help them remember the moves!

Crocodile Island

Bryn and Ashley read a great book about Crocodile Island.

They discovered this book gave instructions for  drawing a map.

Bryn and Ashley took turns to read the instructions and they had to follow them to draw a map of Crocodile Island.

They had to include a key on their map.  They discovered this meant having some words and pictures along the side of their map to help people read what was on the map.

I was very impressed with Bryn and Ashley as they did superb reading and followed the instructions accurately and independently.

Well done Ashley and Bryn.

Maths Stars

Today Ashley, Emma, Cooper, Riley S and Bernie did some amazing maths.

They are learning to add one more to a number.  They were very fast at solving maths problems and they even worked out some REALLY big numbers!

Show Me

Today Bryn, Poppy, Ashley and Emma read a book called Plants Eat Meat too.

I had asked Bryn to bring his Venus Fly Trap along so we could look at it when we were reading the book.

These children had a turn at using Show Me, an ipad app, to share an interesting thing they learned from their book.

I was very proud of them.

Have a look at this photo of them working on their project.

These links take you to the children's Show Me project.
