Wearable Arts

Wow, Room 16, I was SO proud of you all at the Wearable Arts Show.
You all did a brilliant job of presenting your work to a huge audience, you looked fabulous and you walked like true models on the runway.
The lighting was magical, so much fun.

Huge congratulations to

Fatai
Finn
Emma
Nethasa

Who were selected as prize winners from our class.

This is a video clip of the dress rehearsals and on the night - thanks to Bronwyn and Jaz for the great photos.

Maths Stars

Today Ashley, Emma, Cooper, Riley S and Bernie did some amazing maths.

They are learning to add one more to a number.  They were very fast at solving maths problems and they even worked out some REALLY big numbers!

South Africa Freedom Day

April 27 is Freedom Day in South Africa.
This is a very special day for people in South Africa because it celebrates the day that all South African people were allowed to vote for a President for their country.

In our class we have Lily, Tiaan and Emma who have all come from South Africa.
We hope you and your families can celebrate this special day in style.

Show Me

Today Bryn, Poppy, Ashley and Emma read a book called Plants Eat Meat too.

I had asked Bryn to bring his Venus Fly Trap along so we could look at it when we were reading the book.

These children had a turn at using Show Me, an ipad app, to share an interesting thing they learned from their book.

I was very proud of them.

Have a look at this photo of them working on their project.

These links take you to the children's Show Me project.
What do you think?

Amazing Emma

Today Emma shared her butterfly life cycle with our class.

This is what she worked hard on at home as part of her home learning.

Emma made a fantastic poster and used lots of crafty materials.

She explained the life cycle really well too.

Well done Emma, you are a star.

Home Learning

Today Emma made me smile as she had spent time over the weekend finding books about caterpillars and butterflies to share with our class.

She also knew a lot about butterflies- did you know they drink with their tongue....did you even know they have a tongue??!!  Ask Emma if you want to know about butterflies....she is an expert.
