Today these children shared their butterfly life cycles with our class.
I was so impressed with the effort they made and that they could each explain the life cycle so well....and they each found a great way to present their information.

Butterfly Life Cycles
Miles and Cillian did a wonderful job of sharing their knowledge of the life cycle of a butterfly.
I can't wait to go to school on Monday and have a closer look at their great work.

Amazing Emma
Today Emma shared her butterfly life cycle with our class.
This is what she worked hard on at home as part of her home learning.
Emma made a fantastic poster and used lots of crafty materials.
She explained the life cycle really well too.
Well done Emma, you are a star.

Butterfly Art - part two
Today we finished our fantastic butterfly art.
First we dyed our paper green.
Next we drew our own butterflies.
Then we cut them out.
Finally we glued them onto our picture.
We think they look fantastic.
What do you think?

Butterfly art
Today we started to make some really amazing butterfly pictures.
We are really good at knowing the life cycle of a butterfly now.
We can explain it in our own words.
Today we began a piece of art that we will finish later in the week.
First we tore paper....we discovered that if you rip paper in one direction it goes in a straight line, if you tear in the other way it goes crazy!
Then we glued the newspaper to our art paper .... it will become our grass.

Beautiful Butterfly....so special
Wow, when we arrived at school today we noticed our chrysalis was black.
Our research had already taught us that this meant the butterfly was nearly ready to hatch.
We were soooo excited!
At 12pm Mrs Pelham got the best phone call ever....the children from Room 16 phoned to say the butterfly was hatching!! So exciting!
Mrs Norton sat with the children and the chrysalis and watched it hatch!
We put the butterfly into the butterfly garden after it hatched.
We saw the butterfly's tongue!

Butterfly Life Cycles
We have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly.
Today we made some really neat life cycles using pasta pieces!
Thanks to Wendy (Hayden's Mum) for staying to help us.
Later in the day we wrote some amazing reports about how caterpillars change. We used some amazing language.
We also watched a You Tube clip that showed a caterpillar's life cycle.
